Participation in the AI4AS congress highlighted IGNITION’s progress on non-invasive biomarkers for fish health monitoring in aquaculture.
Earlier this month, SPAROS was represented at the AI4AS – Artificial Intelligence for Animal Science congress in Zurich, as part of the ongoing work within the IGNITION project, in partnership with Tyndall Institute, CIIMAR, RIASearch and UCA.
Cláudia Magalhães presented a poster on the development of non-invasive biomarkers for biosensor-based health monitoring in aquaculture, an area with strong potential to advance precision farming and fish welfare. The IGNITION approach integrates physiological and molecular markers with early detection tools to improve on-farm monitoring strategies.
Events like AI4AS offer a valuable space to exchange ideas on how AI, sensors, and data science are reshaping animal production systems—with aquaculture very much in the conversation.
