Digital Tools and Nutrition in Focus at Aquaculture UK 2025

At Aquaculture UK 2025, SPAROS contributed to a collaborative panel session exploring how digital innovation is shaping nutrition and feeding strategies in the salmon industry.

On June 19, SPAROS took part in a panel session during the Aquaculture Conference & Awards 2025 in Inverness, focused on the adoption of digital tools to support nutrition and feeding optimization in salmon aquaculture.

The session brought together contributors from across the sector, including Veramaris, MOWI, Cargill, and the University of Stirling, and was guided by Trevor Telfer. The conversation centred on practical experiences with data-driven tools—from decision-support platforms to precision feeding approaches—and the role they play in improving sustainability and performance.

Ana Nobre, representing SPAROS, joined the discussion to share perspectives on the integration of digital tools into nutritional strategies, alongside other valuable contributions from the panel.

“One clear takeaway from the session,” Ana reflected, “is that collaboration across the value chain is essential to make digital nutrition truly work—both technically and at scale.”

The dialogue highlighted the importance of sharing expertise between research, production, and technology partners, reinforcing that progress in digital aquaculture depends on joint efforts and continuous exchange.

SPAROS is grateful to have contributed to such a thoughtful and constructive conversation, and looks forward to continuing this exchange within the wider aquaculture community.
