Amino acid balance in aquafeeds is a key driver of fish growth and farm efficiency.

Silva and Massango, at EPAGRI, evaluated Nile tilapia fed different commercial diets with similar crude protein levels but different amino acid profiles. Feeds deficient in essential amino acids, including tryptophan, resulted in lower final weight, highlighting the importance of amino acid balance for growth performance.
