NoviFEED workshop

Held on February 8th, in Bergen (Norway), this workshop promoted the transfer of knowledge between the industry and academia on the effects of dissolved oxygen on salmon farming.

The NoviFEED consortium, led by SPAROS, held a workshop about the effects of dissolved oxygen on salmon farming, on the 8th of February at the Institute of Marine Research (IMR), Bergen, Norway.

The main theme of this workshop was explored from different perspectives by four guest speakers with extensive experience and knowledge on the subject, who work in industrial and academic contexts. The presentations and round-table discussion, moderated by Björgolfur Hávardsson from NCE Seafood Innovation, were exciting and left much to think about in terms of approaches to adopt in order to promote good fish welfare and performance under stressful low oxygen conditions.

Speakers:

  • Ole Folkedal, Institute of Marine Research (IMR)
  • Ernst Hevrøy, MOWI
  • Trygve Sigholt, BioMar
  • Anders Tengberg, Xylem/Aanderaa Data Instruments

Moderator:

  • Björgolfur Hávardsson, NCE Seafood Innovation
