Marina Linhares Azevedo earns PhD with research developed in collaboration with SPAROS

Dr. Marina Linhares Azevedo has successfully completed her PhD, in collaboration with the University of Bergen and SPAROS. Her research focused on predictive modelling of feed intake in fish, contributing to more efficient and responsive aquaculture nutrition strategies.

Dr. Marina Linhares Azevedo has officially completed her PhD, following a research project carried out between the University of Bergen (Norway) and SPAROS (Portugal).

Her doctoral work focused on improving our understanding of feed intake regulation in aquaculture species, with particular emphasis on Atlantic salmon and meagre. Using a combination of empirical data, modelling approaches, and experimental results, Marina developed predictive models that integrate key variables such as body weight, temperature, and dissolved oxygen. These models provide a basis for adapting feeding strategies to species-specific responses and environmental conditions.

This research reflects a valuable collaboration between academic and applied aquaculture nutritionβ€”and we’re proud to have supported Marina throughout her PhD journey.
