LARVAMIX will accomplish a series of experimental trials on larval nutrition to generate knowledge on the nutritional requirements of seabass and sole larvae, in terms of vitamins and minerals (micronutrients), which is currently incipient. Based on this acquired knowledge, a premix of vitamins and minerals specific to fish larvae, improving the existing Hatchery Feeds, the commercial microdiets produced by SPAROS Lda, provided to these species at aquaculture facilities. This optimization of Hatchery Feeds will translate into significant improvements in the survival and growth potential of seabass and sole larvae, and on the reduction of skeletal malformations in these species.
