DigiATLA drives digital transformation in Atlantic aquaculture by fostering capacity building in sustainable aquaculture and precision nutrition technologies. It tackles key challenges like limited digital integration, inefficiencies and environmental impacts, which hinder the sector’s resilience and competitiveness. By promoting the adoption of Industry 4.0, DigiATLA enhances digital capacity, equipping the professionals with tools and knowledge to improve efficiency, reduce environmental impacts and boost sustainability. Key outputs include digital training programs with online repository, pilot demonstrations and awareness initiatives on Industry 4.0 adoption. Beneficiaries are aquaculture professionals, researchers and educational communities. Through a transnational approach DigiATLA merges expertise from multiple regions to align strategies, share best practices and develop scalable, impactful and broad solutions for a sustainable and competitive Atlantic aquaculture sector.

O DigiATLA tem como obejctivo impulsionar a transformação digital na aquacultura atlântica, promovendo o desenvolvimento de capacidades em aquacultura sustentável e tecnologias de nutrição de precisão. Aborda desafios fundamentais, como a integração digital limitada, as ineficiências e os impactos ambientais que prejudicam a resiliência e a competitividade do setor. Ao promover a adoção da Indústria 4.0, o DigiATLA melhora a capacidade digital, equipando os profissionais com ferramentas e conhecimentos para melhorar a eficiência, reduzir os impactos ambientais e aumentar a sustentabilidade. Os principais resultados incluem programas de formação digital com repositório online, demonstrações-piloto e iniciativas de sensibilização sobre a adoção da Indústria 4.0. Os beneficiários são profissionais da aquicultura, investigadores e comunidades educativas. Através de uma abordagem transnacional, o DigiATLA reúne conhecimentos especializados de várias regiões para alinhar estratégias, partilhar as melhores práticas e desenvolver soluções escaláveis, impactantes e abrangentes para um setor da aquacultura atlântica sustentável e competitivo.

DigiATLA Kick-off in Olhão, Portugal

The DigiATLA consortium met in Olhão (Portugal) for the in‑person kick‑off meeting, marking the official start of the project’s activities. Over two days, partners aligned on objectives, work packages and the roadmap for the upcoming years.

Co‑funded by the Interreg Atlantic Area Programme, DigiATLA brings together organisations committed to advancing the digital transition of the aquaculture sector through innovation, data‑driven tools and precision nutrition.
